About Chess in 3-D
Chess in 3-D is browser-native chess in three dimensions. It runs on WebGL for the sculpted board, WebAssembly for the Stockfish engine, and WebXR for mixed reality and virtual reality — so a headset plays the same game as a laptop, with nothing to install on either.
Accessibility is part of the product rather than a setting bolted on top: voice moves with spoken confirmation, and a read-board-aloud narrator that speaks the whole position, are free on every plan.
It is built and run by Holmes Computer Consultants. The piece art is original and generated procedurally in code, and the sound is synthesized rather than sampled.
